A two-day programming training course may be provided for these packages:

  • Visual Basic for Access (for Access 2003 & earlier)
  • Visual Basic for Excel (for Excel 2003 & earlier)
  • Programming in Angoss SmartWare

It is essential that there is prior in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access or Angoss SmartWare.

There is usually enough time to discuss projects which you have already started or are considering.

Each course will consider the main facilities at your disposal and how to use them, the integration with other modules or packages (e.g. to automate mail-merging), some useful building-blocks you may use time & again, and ways to identify and correct any errors.

While the terminology does vary between the packages, each course will generally include the following modules :

  • Built-in features
  • Start by recording what needs to be done
  • Modify what was recorded
  • Styles and standards
  • A case study
  • Typical modules
  • Referencing different files
  • Variables and constants
  • Looping and branching
  • Calling attention, and user responses
  • Trapping errors
  • Syntax and useful ideas
  • Manipulating menus
  • Useful tips on creating applications
  • Review
