This two-day course involves some evening work!

The course from R B Consultancy will develop added confidence for you when you provide training for your own staff or others, particularly if you have never been formally trained in training techniques.

The course is geared to those who will train others in computer skills.

It will present you with a number of significant training situations and, through discussion and some role-plays, will help you to become more aware of some of the strategies trainers can employ. This should add to the confidence in and enjoyment of the training which you undertake in the future. The course will also give you a firm foundation for the further development of skills in the future, through our Manager Skills Workshops.

You are likely to already have high proficiency in the subject matter of the area(s) to be trained on, and so we will concentrate not on "subject knowledge" but on the general skills that can be applied to any training situation, enabling you to relate these to your own circumstances, and giving you the confidence to plan and execute your own training in a professional manner.

To help in all this, role-play exercises will be based around a piece of "neutral" training matter which everyone participates in early on in the course, which represents "any" computer package: a early  introduction to a spreadsheet package.  Because of the high degree of practical work and discussion sessions, there should be a maximum of 6 managers on any one course.

This two-day course includes the following modules:

  • The use of written objectives
  • Assessment of success
  • Maximising training techniques
  • Maximising technologies
  • Ideas on course construction
  • Styles of behaviour
  • Practicing changes in style
  • Handling difficult situations
  • First impressions!
  • Review
